For patches with long noise, you want the little inconsistencies in the noise generation - that is why samples of synth hats and cymbals sound unnaturally static compared to the real thing. I use a Vermona DRM1 MK2 and it isn't that great of a kick synth as there is no osc reset and the front end snap is inconsistent (The MK2 was before they added a dedicated kick section to the later models). For very snappy kicks, people like to use samples or phase-resetting synth patches so the snap at the front is consistent. Knowing this info is good so you can decide what is right for your needs. Now play trigger them fast one at a time and hear the difference!

Duplicate the synth patch and turn off phase reset. Make a simple percussion patch with osc reset on and sample it. You can try this out with the free VSTi Dexed (or any synth with toggleable osc phase reset). If generated in real time but with phase reset for each note, it will work just like a sample. When the generated sound plays with freerunning oscillators, the sound is different each time so you do not hear the same overtones. When the sample plays, you hear all of the overtones as the same exact harmonics are played over and over.
When retriggering a sample really fast then retriggering a sound generated in real time, you will hear that they sound different even though they are making the same sound. If the phase does reset (and there isn't any other modulation that doesn't reset), it's just like using a sample! It honestly doesn't matter what you use to generate the sound as long as the oscillators are free running and the phase doesn't reset each note. So this is something I've been explorng myself recently using Renoise, specifically between generating synth percussion in real time vs using a one-shot sample of the same synth sound.
